The committee's Song of the People encourages authors, composers, groups and singer and songwriter of the English song participate in the 41 edition of the festival  L-Għanja tal-Poplu - Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija  (The Song of the People - the Malta Song). The date of submission of the songs will be till Thursday 11 May,2017.

The authors and composers invited to write whatever they want and what style like composing, and only illimited Engaged social issues, or with only one musical style. The festival is expected to be held Saturday 2 September 2017,  at  [[Pjazza Teatru Rjal]] (Opera Theater Square) on the same lines of the last edition and is transmitted by [[PBS]]. So invite the Maltese song artists together to create a beautiful festival and quality both in words and also in music.

The Judges for the Final Night on Saturday 2 September, 2017 were:-
The jury was composed of three trials requested by the committee. A total of 34 members of the jury gave their votes Friday the first of September 2017, while customized evening.
Jury from 16 to 30 years . and from 31 to 45 years and another Jury from 46 upwards. Each of these popular juries vote was equivalent to a jury in the evening on Saturday.
* Dr. [[Mariella Cassar Cordina]] Musician and Composer, officer music education and lecturer at the [[University of Malta]].
* [[Joyce Grech]] journalist and presenter and founder of the [[Malta Film Foundation]]
* Dr. [[Simone Inguanez]] author of several literary works and associated within the Maltese Council for the Arts.
* [[Teddie Zammit]] singer and songwriter who has participated several times in the [[L-Għanja tal-Poplu]] Festival.
* [[Carlo D'Emanuele Olivar]] author of a Maltese and artist books.

Launching of the festival

L-Għanja tal-Poplu

L-Għanja tal-Poplu (2017) 41 Edition.

The committee's Song of the People encourages authors, composers, groups and singer and songwriter of the English song participate in the 41 edition of the festival L-Għanja tal-Poplu (The Song of the People). The date of submission of the songs will be till Thursday 11 May,2017.

The authors and composers invited to write whatever they want and what style like composing, and only illimited Engaged social issues, or with only one musical style. The festival is expected to be held Saturday 2 September 2017, at Pjazza Teatru Rjal (Opera Theater Square) on the same lines of the last edition and is transmitted by PBS. So invite the Maltese song artists together to create a beautiful festival and quality both in words and also in music.

The regulations will be announched at an early date combined with favorable innovations for artists.

The festival will be held by at Għanja tal-Poplu (Song of the People) along with Opera Theater Square and with the support of the Cultural Partnership Agreement with the Maltese Council for the Arts, and with the participation of the orchestra will work hand in hand with -kompożituri and authors.

Il-festival se jittella' mill-Għanja tal-Poplu flimkien ma' Pjazza Teatru Rjal and bu the support of the Cultural Partnership Agreement with the Maltese Council for the Art Kunsill Malti ghal-Arti, and with the participation of the orchestra will work hand in hand together with composers and authors.

Announced the 48 semi-finalist Songs

For the eliminatory phase of l-Għanja tal-Poplu - entered the Malta Song 131 song. 48 of them have passed to the semi-finals.

Second eliminatory phase to be held in early in June, and was postponed because the election, and will be held on Thursday 15 June and Friday 16 June evening, and Saturday 17 June morning. The main singers singing live, recorded a complement to the jury. The day, time and place will be communicated later.

Final Jury

The Judges for the Final Night on Saturday 2 September, 2017 were:-

The jury was composed of three trials requested by the committee. A total of 34 members of the jury gave their votes Friday the first of September 2017, while customized evening.

Jury from 16 to 30 years . and from 31 to 45 years and another Jury from 46 upwards. Each of these popular juries vote was equivalent to a jury in the evening on Saturday.

Chairperson Jury chairman was Carmelo Schembri, assisted by Alexia Cutajar Conti (Secretary of the Committee of L-Għanja tal-Poplu Festival in the presence of Notary Paul Callus who certified the all result.

Comperes

The presenter of L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2017 - Festival Kanzunetta Maltija 2017 was the Actress Sarah Lee Fenech with Clifford Galea the help of Aiken Buhagiar.

Special guests

The special award L-Għanja li Tibqa was presented to Mary Rose Mallia (Click for Video) by Profs. Manwel Mifsud them Mary Rose Mallia sang three of her famous numbers.
