Noel D’Amato

Noel D'Amato born on 8 December, 1969. at Valletta, now lives at Ħaż-Żabbar. He is a Magician, and works as coordinator and stage manager.

Get his education at St. Albert the Great College Valletta in Primary, and Liċeo Vassalli (Junior Lyceum) Tal-Ħandaq limts of Ħal-Qormi in Secondary, after continue at Sixth Form Msida, Technical Institute Naxxar, Technical Institute Paola, MCAST, University of Malta and Institute of Tourism Studies

Noel D'Amato has been working in the cultural and artistic sector since his childhood. He studied Drama for 5 years at the Manoel Theatre Academy of Dramatic Art, and took part in various productions in Malta, Europe and North Africa. He has been in the organizing committee of the National Song Contest - L-Għanja tal-Poplu since 1987, and he made this festival grow to a national scale.

He is also a magician and performed in numerous events beside being the vice president for many years of the Malta Magicians' Society and member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. As festival manager with the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts he was responsible for the organisation and running of national events like the national folk festival, Notte Bianca, Christmas activities, Carnival, the Malta Arts and Jazz Festival.

He spend sixteen years in Malta Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. of which 3 years apprenticeship in all major trades. And eight years as a Planner in Central Planning, Material Control, Production Scheduling & Industrial Engineering Departments, and 1 year in the Estimating Dept, also spend 4 years seconded as a Draughtsman in the Drawing Office with the Hull, Machinery & Lofting Sections. Member of the in-house coordination team Premju Ħaddiem tas-Sena for two years when organised at Malta Shipbuilding, Committee member M.S.C.L. Sports and Social Club.

As from November 2003, he was employed with Industrial Services and Projects Ltd. (I.P.S.L.) a government owned company. My services with the said company were rendered as follows:

Ministry for Youth & the Arts, Events Manager with the Malta-E.U. Accession Celebrations committee. I was also the main organiser and coordinator for the activities at Great Siege Square, Freedom Square and Merchants’ Street during the said celebrations programme. From June 2004 he was posted with the Malta Council for Culture and Arts.

He is one of the organisers of L-Għanja tal-Poplu.
