Joseph has been in the field of music for the past 8 years since 2006. He took part in many festivals both Maltese and foreigners both, which earned the highest positions. In 2007, he earned the prize for Best Voice and Best Interpretation of Stardust Production.
In 2008 she also participated in the Junior Eurosong 2008, which was one of the finalists last night. In 2009, he along with singer Terryann Saliba, was in the final of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2009. In the same year, he was also invited to Malta represents, promittend night in Milan, Italy.
In the same year he was invited to take part in the reality show Do not Stop Me Now, musical program lasted for four whole months. In 2011, he participated in Summer Hit Song Contest 2011, where he obtained the post for the final night.
By the end of this festival, Joseph gained many contacts which joined with kitarist for some time. In 2014 Joseph, was very busy and even was involved in two Musicals: Ħidmietna held in the City Theatre at Valletta and Dun Ġorġ held in the Don Bosco Oratory at Victoria, Gozo, besides that he was as finalist in two major local festivals Summer Hit Song Contest 2014 with the song Fool For Love and Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2014 with a song F’Dinja Aħjar composed by Dominic Cini with lyrics by Stephen Baldacchino.
On 17 September, 2015 Joseph reached the final of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2015 with Ħdejk, written by Philip Vella, wearing a custom made design by Ritienne Zammit, and successfully finishing in 9th place. He has also taken up a guest residency on Ħadd Għalik, a weekly television show which airs on Television Malta, and is hosted by Angie Laus. More recently, he joined the cast of the soap opera, Ħbieb u Għedewwa, having a recurring role.
In 2016, Joseph Refalo collaborated with Media CAST on a music video for the aforementioned Ħdejk releasing it on the television programme Għall-Frisk with Mireille Bonello. On the 19 th September, he is set to compete in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza - 2016 with the song Aċċettajt with music by Pamela Bezzina and lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss.
