Clean-up Needed

The text currently on this page needs further work. It was most likely imported or reproduced from a website associated with the subject of the page - possibly through a process involving far-from-perfect machine translation, often with awkward results. It is awaiting the attention of an experienced M3P editor, which could be you. It may be slightly out of date, or may need other elements taken care of appropriately, including proofreading or copy-editing for grammar and style.

Emil Calleja Bayliss

Emil Calleja Bayliss from San Ġwann, Malta was born on the 23 of June 1989.

He is a relatively new author to the local music scene. He has always been interested in the local industry and from a very young age showed interest in following what was happening around him.

Writing has always been a passion for him and in fact he has written a number of articles for escmalta.com, escflashmalta.com and even il-Gwida Magazine. Another passion of his is poetry and slowly the love towards the literary genre turned into songwriting.

In fact, those who are close to him can vouch that his love for poetry was always derived from the love he had towards music and always expressed his wish that his poetry writing will one day turn into songwriting. Slowly, the dream was realized when he wrote his first set of lyrics for an event at the University of Malta. On this occassion he worked with Jean Claude Vancell and Jessika Muscat and from then on, he tried his best to take every opportunity that came his way.

Nowadays, he sees the difference between the two genres but appreciates both forms of writing. Art in general is a passion of his, in fact of of his side hobbies is photography and it is not the first time that he managed to combine the two areas together. In 2012 he participated in the first competition in the form of L-Għanja Tal-Poplu and from then on he never looked back. In fact after this participation, in the next two years he managed to reach the finals of all local competitions and managed to be successful in a number of them.

Although still at a relatively young age and quite new to the scene, Emil is establishing himself as a lyricist. Slowly, he would like to keep working on this and work with different people as he believes that each experience is a learning experience and every step is important.
