Marie Claire Attard Bason

Marie Claire Attard Bason was born at St Luke’s Hospital on the 23 August, 1993. Live in Pembroke She is a Singer.

Marie Claire currently in was in her final year at the University of Malta, reading for a B.Sc. (Hons) in Earth Systems. She has been studying music since she was four years old and has never looked back since then. For the past ten years she has studied under the direction of many professional tutors, guiding her in achieving her full potential.

From a tender age, Marie Claire has always been very keen on taking part in various activities such as sports which include netball and swimming in particular but music has always been a great part of her life. Marie Claire slowly started taking part in a number of singing competitions and later also festivals which helped her gain the confidence she earned for to be a better performer.

Some of the major festivals Marie Claire took part in include, the Junior Song for Europe 2008, the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2009; the Malta Hit Song Contest 2010 and also L-Għanja Tal-Poplu. In 2011, Marie Claire was close in making the Malta Eurovision finals as she placed third in the wild card competition organized by the popular talent show L-Isfida. She eventually made it to the Malta Eurovision stage as a backing singer for Francesca Borg. In 2012, she managed to make it to the finals of L-Ghanja Tal-Poplu for the second time.

Marie Claire is also active in different local productions where she has participated both as a main performer and also as a backing singer for some of the most talented voices on the island. Although still young, Marie Claire strives in achieving different opportunities that help her in enriching her experience, apart from that she would like to represent Malta in different competitions abroad to showcase her talent.

In September 2014 she took part and ended among the finalists in the final night of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2014, with the song Stmerrejtek Ħabbejtek lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Mark Scicluna.

On 17 September, 2015 Marie Claire taken part in the Final of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2015 with the song Nann written by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas.

In 2016, Marie Claire in collaboration with MediaCAST worked on a music video for the song Għal Dejjem which speaks about the subject of bullying, aiming to raise awareness. The music video was officially launched on the programme Espresso, hosted by Wayne & Pawla on ONE Television.

On 19 September, 2017 Marie Claire taken part in Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2017 with the song ‘Nistaqsi ’ lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Andrew Zammit.
