Danica Muscat

Danica Muscat was born on 17 September 1994 and lives in Ħal Għaxaq. She is a singer from Malta.

Attend the Immaculate Conception school at Ħal Tarxien. Here reputed to be one of the best voices currently available among the flourishing young singers on the Maltese scene, undoubtedly Danica has already achieved a lot for her young age. Danica started singing from age of 4 and from that time onwards, she has never looked back.

Apart from participating in many local song competitions Danica has been the most successful to date young Maltese singer abroad. She has participated in the prestigious Ti Amo festival in Romania in 2004, 2005, and 2006 where she managed to place in the top position for 3 times in a row setting a record for herself and the festival in general.

She has also participated in the Tralcio D Oro festival in Bari, Italy in 2005 were she placed first there as well. Danica has been present in many major song contests held on the Maltese Islands with many nice results.

She has sung with Tom Morley before. She entered JESC Malta in 2006 with Play your Violin. She also take part li several musicals such as Sebastian and Ġensna in Concert.

In Malta Junior Song for Europe 2007 edition, she was so near to win the festival, with the song Stolen, but finished in the 2 nd place with 80 points, only two points less than the five girls who win the festival as Cute with the song Music.

Danica has also taken part in a number of festivals abroad. These include Ti Amo Festival in Romania, Tralcio D’Oro Festival in Bari, Asteriks Festival in Macedonia and Carpathia Festival in Poland. She has also taken part in the popular TV show Io Canto on Mediaset Canale 5. She won Ti Amo four times with songs composed by Sammy Galea and penned by Joe Julian Farrugia.

She formed part of the Malta performing arts academy. Danica is currently attending lectures in business and language studies at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology(MCAST). Though studying is at her heart, her greatest dream is to perform along with popular Italian singer Laura Pausini.

In 2010, Danica had the opportunity to audition for the show Io Canto and following a series of casting rounds got through to the live shows, met Gerry Scotti and had the opportunity to perform with a handful of internationally renowned artists; Ron, Pierdavide Carone, Ornella Vanoni and The Priests.

As a result of this opportunity, Danica was one of the first female vocalists to be featured in an international compilation, one which would eventually be released both in physical and digital format.

Following this experience, the female vocalist returned to Malta with her head help up high, and made an attempt to get through to the final phases of all leading competitions, succeeding on almost each and every occasion.

As a matter of fact, she made it through to the LIVE shows within the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza every year between 2011 and 2015, the Malta Eurovision Song Contest four times between 2012 and 2016, as well as the Summer Hit Song Contest in 2014 and 2015, reaching 3rd place in the latter with Amour, a Philip Vella composition.

In September 2014 she took part and ended among the finalists in the final night of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2014, with the song Destin with lyrics and music by Philip Vella.

On 21 November, 2014 Danica Muscat took part in the semi-finals of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015, with the song Close Your Eyes by Paul Abela and Joe Julian Farrugia.

Danica's songs transmit a message through the lyric, and as a result speak the truth. She cites that with each experience comes knowledge, apart from being an outreach to the public.

On 17 September, 2015 Danica Muscat took part in the Final of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2015 with the song Insellimlek written by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas.

She hopes to continue her recent good fortunes with her latest track Frontline composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Emil Calleja Bayliss, with which she will be competing with in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Just months after her experience in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, Danica decided to start sharing her wisdom with upcoming artists, and as a result opened her own school, The Vocal Lodge. In 2016, she returns to the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2016 with the song M’Hawnx Isbaħ by Emil Calleja Bayliss and Philip Vella, finishing in 8th place.

She took some time away from the music scene focusing on her finals at the University of Malta, before making a much-anticipated and on 19 September, 2017 return to the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2017, The song bears the name Jien Maltija and is penned by Emil Calleja Bayliss with music by Mark Spiteri Lucas.

On 18 September, 2018 Danica taken part in Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2018 where she has got through for the 8th consecutive time with the song Lellux penned by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Philip Vella.

On 19 September, 2019 Danica for the nine consecutive year was one of the finalist of the 28 Edition of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2019 held at Pieta near Dar Ċentrali with the song 'Sfumaw' lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Philip Vella.

On September, 2020 Danica for the tenth consecutive year was one of the finalist of the 29 Edition of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2020 held at Pieta near Dar Ċentrali with the song '72' lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Philip Vella.

On Thursday 26 August, 2021, made it to the final of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2021 Danica Muscat performed the song Parapett lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Philip Vella. On the final night held on 18 September, 2021, at she performed the song Parapett lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Philip Vella.
