The '''28th edition''' of [[L-Għanja tal-Poplu]] was held on Saturday 17 May 2003 at the at the [[University of Malta]]'s [[Sir Temi Zammit]] Hall at [[Tal-Qroqq]] in [[Msida]].
The show, hosted by [[Jason Micallef]] and [[Marbeck Spiteri]], was broadcast live on [[PBS]].
 
The show was broadcast live on [[PBS]]  on Saturday 17 May, 2003. The host of the festival where [[Jason Micallef]] and [[Marbeck Spiteri]].
 
It was submite a total of [[ ? ]] orginal songs which was choose by a panel of Jury’s [[ ? ]] choose the 18 songs which passed for the Final.
 
Tickets at €10 were available from the Y.T.C. 227 Merchants' Street, Valletta.

The committee has always been proud to recognise the talent of local artists and therefore, L-Għanja li Tibqa' awards were given to lyricists Joe Friggieri and Alfred C. Sant. The Incanto Choir from the Parish Church of Santa Luċia sang a medley of three songs by Joe Friggieri It-Tfajla tal-Irdum, Il-pont ta’ Wied Rummiena and Il-Festa all composed by Mro Charles Camilleri and originally sung by Mary Rose Mallia. Then the choir sang 3 Alfred C. Sant songs: L-Għannej and L-Ewwel Tfajla li Ħabbejt composed by Ray Agius, and L-Aħħar Bidwi f’Wied il-Għasel composed by Mro Paul Abela and originally sung by Tony Camilleri, The Malta Bums and New Cuorey respectively.

Trophies were presented by Dr.Josie Muscat, Chairman of Eden Foundation as profits from the final night were donated to the Eden Foundation.
