The 24th edition of L-Għanja tal-Poplu was held on Saturday 24 April 1999 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
Tickets were available from the Y.T.C. 227 Merchants' Street, Valletta.
All profits from tickets and sponsors at the contest were donated to L-Arka.

The L-Għanja tal-Poplu trophy is detained for a year by the author/composer of the winning song. Trophies were also rewarded to the song with the best social theme and another one for the best interpretation. In this edition, trophies were made by young artist Sina Farrugia.
