[[Deo Grech]] stood in at short notice.

The 35th edition of L-Għanja tal-Poplu was held on Saturday 4 December 2010 at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Phoenicia in Floriana.

In this festival of original songs in Maltese, the participants interpret and accompany their own songs live.

The winning songwriters can choose any artist to represent Malta in an international song festival under the auspices of the World Association of Festivals and Artists.

The show was broadcast live on One TV through a special edition of Bla Agenda. Vanni Pulé was expected to present the show but pulled out citing personal reasons, which many took to relate to the murder attempt on his son Konrad Pulé just two days earlier, on 2 December 2010. 1. Corazon triumphed with her self-penned entry Mill-Għajnejn ta’ Tifla, which she sung accompanied by Alfred Fenech (oboe), Robert Tomasuolo (guitar), Maria Bonnici (flute), Mark Darmanin (percussion) and Mario Cocker Aquilina (double bass), collectively called il-Ħbieb tal-Qalb.

This was Corazon’s third victory in this festival, after winning last year with the song Ta’ L-Aħħar, a duet with Walter Micallef - who was this year's special guest.
