DBS Productions

DBS Productions – was formed in 2015 by couple Bernice Šujak and her husband Damir Šujak. They organized their first Shine Singers Festival on March, 2015. In December 2016, DBS Productions organized their first contest for maltese originali songs, Tifħira lill Malta. Along with the original songs, there was also a seperate section for cover version songs in Maltese.

Applications for this festival opened on April 2016 and closed end October 2016. For this festival there was no eliminatory phase.

Submissions

After submissions have been closed, a meeting was held for the all partecipants, For the meeting was present, all the singers, composers, authors, Parents and was drew the bill of three sections A, B and C of the order will sing, total participate where 17 orginal songs, and 15 well known songs.

The Festival was held at Rabat. And was divided Into three categories A, B, and C With a number of seven, eight and five songs respectively.

This contest consisted in two section, one of original songs in Maltese not heard anywhere and they was sang for the first time in pubblic. And there was a section with Maltese songs already heard that before. In this edition the singers sing with a play back music. For this Festival was also issued a cd with the finalists songs.

Entertaiment

Entertaiment The festival was opened by Krista Šujak singing Tifħira Lil Malta with all competitors. During the intermission, Krista Šujak sang Pupa tal-Plastik and was joined as a surprise by Domenique Azzopardi, who is the singer who performed the same song during L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2016.

Festival Comperes

The Presenters of the first editon of Tifħira Lil Malta 2016 where Clayton ‘Ċomba’ Zammit and Krista Šujak who also was a guest singer. Tifħira lil Malta was aired on F Living Channel on Christmas day.
