The 18th Edition of the festival was held on Saturday 22 May 1993 at the Oratory at Birkirkara. 46 original songs were submitted and the final 15 were chosen by a professional jury. The final night was transmitted on TVM and the songs published on cassette. A booklet with the song lyrics was published and given to the audience.
Charles Xuereb and Tanya Muscat compered the final night.

L-Għanja tal-Poplu trophy is detained for a year by the author and composer of the winning song. Further trophies were awarded to the song with the best social theme, and the best interpretation.

Interval
During the counting of votes, the audience was entertained by a show of traditional Maltese costumes by GM Productions, and dancing by Tony Lawrence dance troupe.
