Launching of the festival

The 46th edition of L-Għanja tal-Poplu – a festival of songs in Maltese, will be held at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta on Saturday 30th July 2022 with the participation of the Malta Concert Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Paul Abela. Submissions for this festival can be sent online from Friday 25 February till Friday18 March 2022 and the finalists will be announced by the 24th April. Authors, composers, music bands, singers and singer-songwriters are invited to participate in this popular festival with songs addressed to the Maltese public.

Announced the 41 semi-finalist Songs
For the eliminatory phase of the 46 Edition of l-Għanja tal-Poplu - Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija, entered the Malta Song 131 song. 40 of them have passed to the semi-finals. The 40 Songs who passed for the the Semi-Final in Alfabetikal order are:-

This result was confirmed by the notary.
The second phase of the selection is the semifinals, when the singers will sing their songs live with recorded accompaniment.
The semifinals of the People's Song 2022 festival were held in the Friggieri Hall inside the Valletta Design Cluster. Jury members listened to 40 songs sung live and selected from 131 songs submitted for this edition.
