Welcome to M3P: Malta Media Memory Preservation
a collaborative database of Maltese media and associated arts
currently holding memories on 4,878 pages contributed by 421 registered users

The main goal of the M3P is to provide an inclusive repository for memories of Malta's media and associated arts, ensuring that these are kept in posterity for current and future generations.

We're constantly rethinking what should be included or linked on the Main Page. Further suggestions and comments are very welcome on the M3P:Community Portal talk page.

Getting started

If you would like to know how to get started contributing or editing the M3P database and website have a look at this basic step by step guide to getting started, or the M3P Quickies in PDF format for quick and easy step-by-step on how to start creating and editing pages on M3P.

We're still working on developing our help pages even further for users of this website who want to collaborate on this project. Also check out the M3P Policies section for some content guidelines - currently under heavy development. We've also constantly redesigning the M3P website to keep it as fit for purpose as possible. Meanwhile, please feel free to explore as you see fit.

If you're already a contributor or you're familiar with the way wikis work, you'll find ideas about what to do next and details about what other contributing users are doing on the M3P Community Portal.

Support & Collaboration

M3P was originally created as the Malta Music Memory Project in 2010, supported in part by the Malta Arts Fund of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and the University of Hull's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and School of Arts & New Media. Further support for the creation of the project was provided by the British Academy, Jisc, the National Archives of Malta, the Open Preservation Foundation, and the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.

In 2015 the M3P Foundation has also entered into formal collaboration agreement with Fondazzjoni Kreattività.

We also work very close with Malta's National Archives.

Projects

The main M3P project is never ending. That is really not an overstatement. There are also a number self-containted projects that we are actively focused on; most of these operate collectively as the Malta Music Memory Project, and include:
