This was the Eleventh Edition of the Festival Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2002 Since the festival begain again in 1997. This Festival was showed direct on Net TV and the price of televoting was confimed too.

Priminary Jury

Enter a number of 157 songs and, after where chosing 40 songs and then 20 songs for the Final (Jury not know) [ ? ]

The organisers under the chair person Charles Stroud announced the 20 entries which qualified for the next round to be held in the final on 15 September, 2002 at Floriana The Granaries. The theme of the Festival was L-Għażla Għal Uliedna.

During the intervall till on could know the winner result by the jury where entertainment by the Renzo Spiteri and Tony Grimaud who where together again after 20 years, and the winner of 2001 Ira Losco.

The Presenters of this editon of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza where the Actress Claire Agius Ordway and comidy actors Toni Busuttil and Chrysander Agius.

Prize

The prizes where for Televoting, For Third Place, Lm 150 and trophy for singer, Author and Composer, For Second Place, Lm 250 and trophy for singer, Author and Composer, For First Place, Lm 400 and trophy for singer. The Trophies was presented by the presenters, and the first prize was presented by the General Secretary of The Nationalist Party Joe Saliba in the presence of the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Charles Stroud.
