The Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest was the national selection process for Malta's entry to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest between 2003 and 2010. It was administered by a committee within the Malta Council for Culture & the Arts, associated with Malta's Eurovision Song Contest entries.

Since 2011, Malta's entries to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest produced by PBS, the national broadcasting corporation. This initially resulted in a hiatus for Malta's participation in this pan-European event in 2011 and 2012.

Malta returned to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 without a public national selection process. Gaia Cauchi was chosen by PBS to sing The Start at the televised final from Kiev, Ukraine.

The introduction of Malta to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest coincided with the withdrawal of the Festival Internazzjonali tal-Kanzunetta Maltija, as the Malta Council for Culture & the Arts declared that it did not have the budget and necessary resources to support both events.
