This was the Eleventh Edition of the Festival Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2002 Since the festival begain again in 1997. This Festival was showed direct on Net TV and the price of televoting was confimed too.
Priminary Jury

The organisers under the chair person Charles Stroud announced the 20 entries which qualified for the next round to be held in the final on 15 September, 2002 at the Granaries at Floriana. The theme of the Festival was L-Għażla Għal Uliedna.
