After the success of the First Edition of Konkors Kanzunetta Festa San Pawl – 1986 held at Valletta, it Was decieded to organized another Festival. Konkors Kanzunetta Festa San Pawl – 1987. Held at the Collegiate Church of St Paul’s Shipwreck Valletta on Saturday 31 January, 1987.

Organising Committee

The Organising Committee was composed by Charles A.Bellia as Organizer. Chairman: - Rev. Kon. Fr. Anton Galea Vice-Chairman:- Paul Asciak Rappresentative on be half L-Ghaqda tal-Pawlini:- Paul Spiteri, Louis Attard, Lino Bartolo and Charles Grima. Cordinator:- Paul Mifsud

The Festival

In this First Editon of Konkors Kanzunetta Festa San Pawl – 1986 taken part nine songs which compited with each other, after the first three songs, there was some poems ready by Charles Arrigo, and the same after the seventh song, there where some other narration from the Oratorio Pawlu Ta’Malta ny Alfred Mallia.

The Jury

The Judges for this editon where Charles Arrigo , Maria Pisani , Mro.Joseph Sammut , and Mro. Paul Arnaud lead by Fr. David Azzopardi.

The Band

All the singers was accompated by the Qunitet of Edward Tagliaferro on Keyboards, Joe Vassallo violin, Thomas Sinagra Sax, Vince Bonett bass guitar and Philip Xuereb drums. All the songs arragment was done by the composier itself.

The Prizes

There where as prizes as cash money sponsors by some companies. First Prize was Lm 100 sponsor by [N.N.]] Second Prize was Lm 50 sponsor by P.Carabott of 17, Merchants Street, Valletta. Third Prize was Lm 25 sponsor by Varta Batteries, of 186, Strait Str, Valletta.

After Mr. Charles A.Bellia made his address to the present audrence, W,R. Kon. Anton Galea made his message too, after it was annouced the winners, by the head of the jury’s Fr. David Azzopardi, and was presented the winning prizes and certificates, to the compsers and Authors , presented by Mr.Athony J.Tabone a rapresened Farsons, and after the presentation Godwin Lucas & Grupp Selmun sing the 1986 winning song ‘Rajt Qlugħ’ and all finished by the National Maltese Altem.
