Joe Borg Actor, director and writer was born on 5 December 1948 inside Sliema by Carmelo Borg from Floriana and Victoria nee’ Sghendo from Sliema. He was the first child among four siblings who are Marian, Charles, and Tony.
In 1971 Joe married Mary nee Attard and went to live in Mosta. They have two children Cynthia born in 1973 and is a teacher at the local primary school and Alison, born in 1979, married to Duncan Abela and the Iklin residing. Alison is also a teacher in Saint Monica School in Mosta.
Joe worked in accounts with some of the Mizzi Organisation companies which made a career of 42 years where he retired and today he is a pensioners.
Joe is an actor, director and writer, with five and fifty years experience in theatrical work, on stage, radio television and cinema.
Stage:-
Joe Borg spend his childhood in Gżira, where he started the stage career of ten years inside the Gżira primary school under his teacher Mr. Vanni Riolo.
In the sixties, he began theatrical in the hall of Catholic Action at Gżira where one of the actors who organize and take part in theaters in the hall of the same center. For those programs that were held every Sunday, attended hundreds of children.
It was a time where the actors were men only, so Joe and his friends were also doing the female parts. In 1964 Joe took part in the first Christmas pagint raised in the church by Sir Riolo which made part of St. Joseph.
In the Seventies, Joe Borg took part with several popular companies of that time including with Istage Dragons of Sliema with two drama from the pen of Fr Wistin Born Il-Qalb li ma felħitx aktar and Ġuda that were staged in Deporres Hall in Sliema. With Imsida Goldoni Joe took part in several theater plays and comedies in the Club of Melita Band at Msida including Bint il-Bojja, Żewġ Baħrin u Kuġina Is-Siġriet tal-Qrar. But most who took part was with the Hamrun Dramatic Company under the leadership of the late Emmanuel Grima
With the H.D.C. Joe home the theaters of all Malta with works several, comedy, drama Fares beauchards, musical comedy sketches etc. Among the theaters that took part in the theater there Manoel Theatre with Il-Wirt ta’ Stanford and Minix Miġnun while in Orpheum Theater at Gżira It-Tieni Mara and Żewġ Baħrin u Kuġina.
In Catholic Institute theater, Joe Borg interprets various parties with Ħamrun Dramatic Company including the comedy , Bla Ħtija, Islifni l-Mara and Ninsab l-infern.
Joe also took part in the theaters of Siġġiewi, Żurrieq, while Ħal Qormi in open air courtyard of the club of the band with musical comedy. Almost annually Joe was taking part with the Hamrun Dramatic Company with a varied program in drama competitions organized at Dun Edgar Hall at Mġarr.
At the end of the seventies, Joe took part f'pageants of passion (his writing) in the church of Burmarrad which made the part of Christ. In the eighties. Between 1980 and 1986 Joe Borg took part in both pageants, written by himself, one of the other Christmas and Easter which Joe Borg made these parts - Il-Miġja Tal-Feddej make the part of Zakkarija. (1980) Miet Għalina.

In the nineties. In 1990 closing the fiftieth anniversary of the Oratory Heart of Jesus, Joe moved the part of Dun Mikiel Xerri in the play of Fr Ġwann Abela ofm QALBIENA. While also took part in the passion play of the same year written by Edwin Vassallo.
(1991) At the same oratory Borg took part in the academies. ANGELA (1991), (1992) Mill-Fidi r-Rebħa (1994) Hobson's Choice (1995) It-Tajra li ġiet lura by Alfred C. Sant, while in the same year was a prominent actor in Lejla ta’ Talent in the same square where her oratory d'share two comedies.
Other academy in Il-Giddieb by Carlo Goldoni. (1995) In the Manoel Theater Joe Borg took part in the works:- Żwieġ bil-Bolli by Carlo Goldoni, and Don Juan by Moliere where Joe made three parts, three characters in the same comedy.

With the company Talenti led by Mario Micallef, Joe Borg took part in the works of William Shakespeare, translated to Maltese so well by famous writer Alfred Palma
All these works were held inside the Manoel Theater Il-Kummiedja tal-Isbalji (Comedy of Errors) Joe Borg made part of the Duke Solinus.
