At the age of 13 years Dorcas started singing and she started  to compete in various local festivals competitions. For Dorcas this was her first step in her carrier as they helped her to develop her talent so good.  
She started her singing career at the age of 13 and took part in various local song contests.


People started to get familiar with Dorcas  through various tv stations and various tv programmes.
In 2008 she had her first experience in a festival on a national level. She sang “Stilla” in the semi-finals of [[Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza - Talent Żagħżugħ 2008]].


Back in 2008 Dorcas had her first experience in a higher level here in Malta were she was with the semi-finalists in the competition [[Konkors Kanżunetta Indipendenża Talent Ġdid]] with an original Song named “Stilla”.
Then she decided to commit herself more seriously and study to reach a higher level.


After she  passed through this experience Dorcas kept on studying the voice with serious commitment and on a higher level.
In 2011, Dorcas won the [[Ilwien Mużikali]] with her original song ''Mhux Tassew''. She also took part in ''Passport To Indifest'' during TV programme ''Sas-Sitta''.


She participated during various Singing competitions here in Malta and also abroad.
In December 2012, she took part in a contest in [[Bucharest]], [[Romania]] and finished third.  


In the year 2011 Dorcas won the festival named [[Ilwien Mużkali]] with her original song “Mhux Tassew” which was another great experience for her. She competed in more festivals here in Malta on a very good level.
On the 9 November 2013 Dorcas took part in the [[Festival Internazzjonali tal-Kanzunetta Maltija 2013]] and finished fourth with the song ''Din Jien'' music by [[Dominic Cini]] 'Minik' and lyrics by [[Rita Pace]]. Dorcas also won the [[WAFA Award]].


This year Dorcas was also taking part in the competition Passport To Indifest during the tv programm “Sas-Sitta”
On the 17 September 2015 she took part in the Final of [[Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2015]] with the song ''Ma Ninsa Qatt'' written by Rita Pace and composed by Dominic Cini ‘Minik’  and placed second.


On December 2012 Dorcas left to [[Romania]] [[Bucarest]] to represent Malta and compete over there where she got 3rd place .  
In July 2016  Dorcas took part in the [[L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2006]] – (Festival Kanzunetta Maltija) with the song ''Jien Biss'' lyricis by [[Joe Julian Farrugia]] and composed by [[Dominic Cini]]. She passed from the Semi-Final held on Thursday 7 July, 2016 she passed for the Final Night held on Saturday 9 July, 2016 with this song.  


On 19 September, Dorcas was among the 24 finalist of the 25th [[Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2016]] held at [[Floriana]] and placed eleventh, with the song ''Omm tal-Maltin'' lyrics by Rita Pace and music by [[Philip Vella]].
On 23, 24 and 25 September, 2016. Dorcas Debono got another experance, when she taken part for the first time, in the Musical [[Il-Perit]] producer by [[Bronk Productions]] at [[Sir Temi Zammit Hall]], writen by [[Brian Bonnici]], composed by [[Dominic Cini]], direct by [[Tonio Vella]].
On 19 September, 2017 Dorcas  taken part in [[Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2017]] with the song  ‘Xwejħa’  lyrics by [[Joe Julian Farrugia]] and music by [[Dominic Cini]] and win the prize of public televoting.
Dorcas will be one of the finalist in the 43rd Edition of [[L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2019]] (Festival Kanzunetta Maltija) held on 31 August, 2019 with the song ''Misraħ Ġawhra'' lyrics by [[Joe Julian Farrugia]] and music by herself.

Dorcas Debono

Dorcas Debono (born 15 January 1993) is a singer from l-Imġarr, Malta.

She started her singing career at the age of 13 and took part in various local song contests.

In 2008 she had her first experience in a festival on a national level. She sang “Stilla” in the semi-finals of Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza - Talent Żagħżugħ 2008.
