Ritienne Sammut

Ritienne Sammut, born at Santa Katarina Hospital in H’Attard (today was a Home for the Elderly people) on November 5, 1976. She is the youngest of three siblings and when she was young she was a very shane girl.

At 18-year-old she had her first experience on stage. When she was part of a group of young youngsters in the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes Raħal Ġdid (Paola) and together with them began to take part in the pageant of the Passion. Who there began to emerge from her shell and began to believe more in herself.

In 2006 she started going to Drama lessons with Carlos Farrugia today Freespirit Acting and from there she started her experience on television. She began taking part as an extra in Gizelle and Evangelists and small sketches on television programs such as Tikka before the news, Naħdem u Kif, Bondi Plus, and Xarabank.

After these small experiences, opportunities began to come for slightly larger parties such as Erwieh Imsakkra, Għeruq, Missjoni, Emilja, Clikka, Ħbieb u Għedewwa u Enigma (il-Barunessa).

In 2017 Rewind Productions contacted her for a more demanding part in the Television Drama Ċirkustanzi and there she played Valentina’s main character for the first time. After Ċirkustanzi she was given another part in Sorelle Television Drama as Naomi.

In 2018, was held for the first time the Cospicua Short Play Festival and she was part of a group of young actors who took part in this festival with the play Kola ta’ l-Ajru by Charles Scerri. Kola ta’ l-Ajru had taken first place in best writing and best production.


Ritienne Sammut in several parts

Her experiences on stage began with Passion Dramas from 1995 to 2019. She played many different characters. She has worked with several different theater companies such as Lourdes Pageant Group, Żebbuġ Pageant Group, Freespirit Acting, Props Productions, Palmizi Birgu Youth Section, and CG Productions.

She has always believed that there is nothing more beautiful than the stage because the way you can convey a message and move the audience with the interpretation from the stage cannot be conveyed on television. Audience feedback fills an actor with courage and encourages him to give more.

In addition, she has worked with the SKENE Group in theatrical productions It-Tieġ ta’ Karmena Abdilla and comic Sketches on various occasions. She also worked with actor Eric Grech in the comedy Daħħal f’Siektu u ħareġ imħawwad.

She has worked with many established actors such as Inez Farrugia, George Micallef, Carmen Azzopardi, Michael Sciortino, Michael Tabone, Ray Abdilla, Veronika Farrugia and Rita Camilleri among others.

She had three experiences behind-the-scenes, as Production Secretary with the Grupp Talenti, at Manoel Theater and Sound Direction with Freespirit Acting at MITP in the comedy SATIRA and Production Secretary at Play Dardarun.

Her favorite actor is Johnny Depp because he is an actor with many different faces. Each character she performed was always unique and personal.

She believes that in a drama you can never say you know enough because every experience always makes you something new. She is always grateful to those people who believed in her and gave her the opportunity. The most important thing is to be open to new learning and never to worry. The biggest hits are the ones that let go of something woven into you.
