Eleanor Cassar (born 29 September 1982) is Maltese singer active in various popular music genres.

Early life

In 1993 her school teacher encouraged her to participate in musicals and theatrical events, and this was her first experience with singing in public.

Eleanor’s passion for music and acting led her to join her home town theatrical group Skene, whereby she was entrusted with main roles and solos as well as a number of a cappella numbers throughout the years.

Since then Eleanor continued progressing and is now the lead singer of the five piece band ZoNe 5. The band plays jazz, soul, pop and rock.

International Festivals

On an international level, Eleanor took part in a number of festivals and has put Malta’s name forward by winning an outstanding string of song contests and awards. Some of her achievements include:


Awards & recognitions

Eleanor is twice a winner of a FIDOF Award. She received her first FIDOF Award for Promising Artists in 2000 and another FIDOF Award for Best Interpretation in 2004.

Eleanor works closely with one of the most recognized authors in Malta Fleur Balzan and with singer and composer Paul Giordimaina. Moreover, Eleanor has jointly participated in a number of festivals together with Glen Vella, Malta’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf.
