Ramona Galea

Ramona Galea was born at Pietà on 10 June, 1987, She grew up Santa Venera, Nowaday she is married and lived at Ħaż-Żabbar. Ramona is a lyrical soprano and musical theatre artist.

She is a B.Ed (Hons) graduate and is a full time mathematics teacher with a true passion for singing. She studied classical singing with Mro. Brian Cefai and is now following a Musical Theatre course with Masquerade Theatre company where she is coached by Anthony Bezzina, Rachel Fabri, Julie Zahra and Elena Zammit. Ramona also took several masterclasses both on classical (with the German Soprano Verena Reid) and pop singing (with The Voice Academy Malta and Tech School of Music London).

Ramona had the opportunity to perform several times as a soloist with Amadeus Chamber Choir where she performed in yearly Easter concerts and Christmas Preludes. In 2014, Ramona had the opportunity to perform in Pop Meets Classic Malta Police Force Anniversary Concert featuring The Malta Police Band alongside other renowned Maltese tenors and sopranos. Ramona also performed in the Young Artists Series Concert presented by the Malta International Music Festival at Salesjan Theatre Sliema and in Bel Canto Concert: a Lyrical Concert presented by Music Maestro Productions at Casino Maltese.

Ramona played several characters in the yearly Benedittu Productions Pantomimes including Maleficent/The Queen (in SnowWhite), Tinkerbell (in Peter Pan), 'The Witch' (in Beauty & the Beast), Jasmine (in Aladdin) and Cinderella (in Cinderella).

Ramona was also a finalist on ‘Don’t Stop Me Now 2011’ Singers’ Competition on TVM where she had the opportunity to perform different genre of songs. She is currently studying to obtain Musical Theatre diploma next year. Thus she isn’t focusing only on her singing, but also on acting for theatre and jazz dancing. Her next dream is that of having the opportunity to take part in a West End Musical in London.

Additional Infotmation

Ramona is a fully qualified mathematics teacher, with teaching warrant, at St. Benedict College Secondary School at Ħal Kirkop. In these past five years we took school productions to a higher level. This includes our yearly Christmas Pantomime with teacher participation and the Prize Day Production mainly for students. This has given me the opportunity to work in the Production team and help students in learning their songs and roles.
