Lyndsay Pace

Lyndsay Pace is a Maltese singer born on 12 March 1990.

From local festivals to being part of a girl band to media related projects to hitting the top radio charts following prestigious nominations, Lyndsay Pace is no stranger to the music scene, being described as a ‘producer’s dream’. The young driven, hard-working and charismatic singer/songwriter/recording artist. Lyndsay always had an ultimate passion for music and had always been evident from a relatively young age carrying her natural presence and self-confident abilities through each of her stage performances. She differs from the other acts in the local music industry by bringing about a certain aura, a professional one which incorporates stamina, attitude and pure energy.

Her talents had been recognized clearly as she showed keen interest in the subjects of drama, dancing and singing thus taking up lessons before evolving her hobbies into more of a passion, quickly becoming a serious career. In fact, Lyndsay had been taking Speech Level Training for years from a number of professional tutors based in the United Kingdom. The music world has taught me to become a much more confident, outgoing and stronger person both from a personal level aswell as being an artist whilst always being presented in the spotlight having to accept all types of criticism and different opinions. Explains Lyndsay. I have learnt that the most important thing is to always believe in yourself and never let anyone discourage you to achieve what you deserve in life and this is my message to my fans because at the end of the day I think that every individual is special in their own unique way.

Amongst several festivals and activities of a local nature, her career in general mainly started with the renowned production company Where’s Everybody were she took media and music related courses such as Starter Pack, Starter Pack Plus and Media Teens then eventually grasping the role of assisting production during live TV programs and being a resident singer on most of the popular local shows in the past couple of years including Pjazza, Saturday Night, Ħadd Għalik and Sibtek which was undoubtedly, yet another positive experience to be considered in her portfolio, having gained plenty of exposure.

In the past few years, Lyndsay’s music career had been gradually taking shape managing to show her vocal capabilities through her participation in a variety of local events such as The Baystreet Star To B Talent Contest, the TV Competition Talent Zone, the Malta Academy of Performing Arts, the Artist Development Showcase, the TV programme L-Isfida, The XFM Virtual Rockstar Competition, the International Malta Hit Song Contest, the TV Reality Show Don’t Stop Me Now, The Vodafone Upcoming Artist Competition and Toni Sant’s MMI Listeners 2017 Picks were she managed to achieve positive results whilst giving her the boost that she thoroughly deserves. Lyndsay had also worked on a number of collaborations with a quantity of well-known artists whilst grasping such recognition and popularity in the music business.

Apart from being an already successful solo artist, Lyndsay had been selected to be a part of Malta’s first girl band known as Vieve back in 2008 in an agreement with Silverscope music and XFM. The experience was a thrilling and exciting one as the artists were hand picked for such an opportunity but only lasted for a year or so when they decided to go their separate ways.

Her sound is all about connecting with the listeners through high-energy release and uplifting melodies whilst venturing deeper into upbeat pop music which allows her to express her feelings in a more direct way whilst having a unique approach.

From her perspective, Lyndsay’s inspirations come from personal experiences, people which affect her in a way, her opinions about the world in general and influences from many artists and different types of genres mainly from pop music such as Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Pink, Ke$ha, Gwen Stefani, Adele, Rihanna, Demi Lovato. Jessie J to mention a few.

In May 2010, Lyndsay had been selected to perform abroad on the Italian based TV show Accademia in Pozzallo, an entertainment programme involving young contestants competing and exposing their talents for one noble prize, thus being another positive experience for the young artist.

In the beginning of the year 2011, Lyndsay made it to the final round of the competition ‘Aiming 4 Fame Malta to Midem’ compilation where her music had been presented in Cannes, France and showcased to major and independent record label executives, Music Television producers and other publishers from the music industry. This was quite a major step for her as an artist as garnering such exposure can aid to cement her career. In fact, this seems to be quite the beginning of an interesting road in which she will try to crack a number of nations’ music scenes as it is such a solid platform.

When it comes to the appreciation of the industry, it seems that Lyndsay has that one covered as well by virtue of being nominated for the Best Solo Artist, two years in a row at the Bay Music Awards in 2010 and 2011 apart from getting a nomination for Best Song of the track ‘Love Sick’ which spent a number of weeks at number one on 89.7 Bay Radio. Following the same concept, Lyndsay had also impressed the music professionals which vote during the Malta Music Awards in 2011 whilst being nominated for Best Female Artist and then again in 2014 whilst being nominated for Best Solo Artist and Best Song of her chart topping single Daphne, being aired on Television Malta (TVM), the leading station in broadcasting.

Eventually one opportunity led to another and Lyndsay found myself developing and growing artistically towards her music skills whilst exposing her talents through a number of live concerts, acoustic sessions, music marathons and private functions with her newly formed band which started in early Summer 2012 such as The Farsons Great Beer Festival, The Beland Music Festival, Live Music at Surfside, The B-Day Baystreet Birthday Celebrations, “Let It Snow” The Plaza Festive Season, The Rookies Charity Music Marathon, The MHSA Acoustic Session, Jamming for Gemgha2Jimma, Girl Power Acoustic Sundays, Live Sessions at De Niro’s Bar, The Unplugged Sessions at Soho Lounge, ZION Acoustic Sessions, FZL Union Group, Acoustic Saturdays at Tex Mex Bar & Grill, Platform 2.0, Friday Night Live Acoustic Sessions at Café Jubilee, Wild Honey Street Sessions, Zejtun Folk Fest, School Disco, The MCAST ICT Chairty/Solidaritree Marathon, The Strait Beer Festival, Q Bar Christmas Eve Special, the IUSY World Festival, Get It Sundays, The Chocolate, Sweets and Ice-Cream Festival, Freshers Week on Campus, Acoustic Summer Sessions at the Hilton Hotel, Live Sessions at the Rooftop, Acoustic Summer Nights at the Funky Monkey, Live Acoustic Sessions at the Eden SuperBowl, Aperitivo Fridays, Aperol Spritz Sunsets, Ladies Night at the Thirsty Barber, Hugo’s Pub Goes Live, Live Sessions at Hard Rock Cafe’, Simon’s Pub Music Festival, The Talbot and Bons Live Music Marathon, Music for Charryty, The Malta International Food Festival, The Westin Dragonara Casino Nights, The APS Whisky and Wine Tasting Event, The GINGIO Connection, Live Sessions at the Preluna Hotel and the ALS Fundraising Marathons to mention a few.

Needless to say, the modern day music industry is continuously searching for the complete artist and for this reason Lyndsay had decided to take her career to the next level and participate in a variety of music training workshops/programs, mainly the ‘Ultimate Artists Masterclass’ in Summer 2013/2014; a collaboration between Joshua Alamu (SLS vocal coach), Ali Tennant (international hit songwriter) and Eva Brandt (producer/music examiner) aiming to focus on a holistic approach for developing and aspiring artists in understanding vocals, songwriting and production followed by a number of live showcases in London were she had the opportunity to perform at prominent venues such as The Water Rats and Westminster University in Harrow Campus. Such an intense seminar has provided a platform to learn, network and develop the musical skills required to progress into music careers, whilst giving out professional guidance, mentoring and opportunities to compete in the music business.

Furthermore, Lyndsay had also been selected to audition for the next episode of Britain’s Got Talent 2014 in the UK were she had the opportunity to show case her singing potential in front of a professional jury and be recognised by producers on a world wide scale. Such an adventure will hopefully unravel itself to further opportunities and develop even more at a later stage as Lyndsay hopes for international achievements.

Later in 2014, Lyndsay had been selected in the top 20 finalists of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song entitled ‘Home’ written and produced by Boris Cezek which unraveled a turning point in her career being the most popular local festival and a stepping stone to local artists. Lyndsay had already experienced the festival being a backing vocalist back in 2011 and 2013 but this time however, she has officially participated as the lead singer for the first time.

In the beginning of 2015, Lyndsay started a new journey as a vocal tutor/coach at Malta’s leading drama and theatre arts school, The Masquerade highlighting an important aspect of her teaching career. She then eventually continued to develop on this particular aspect in the same year at the comprehensive La Voix Academy under the direction of Gillian Attard then later in 2017 as Lyndsay started to work at the Stagecoach Performing Arts Schools which provides students the opportunity to perform on stage locally aswell as internationally. When combining music tuition of the highest standard with innovative approaches to music education, Lyndsay renowned her music studies in a serious manner as she had been certified with a distinction at the Rockschool which is the world wide leading accredited provider of graded exams, diplomas and vocal qualifications. These musical studies are renowed for their practicality, flexibility and creativity whilst facilitating music through summative assesments such as musical theory, vocal anatomy, technique, stage performance etc.

At the end of the year 2017, Lyndsay had officially launched her second pop/rock EP in collaboration with Beehive Productions entitled Butterfly (produced and written by Kenny D’Ugo, Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat at the Villa, Brasserie, Balluta Bay, St. Julian’s, during the weekly music events hosted by Get It. The young songstress performed a live unplugged session with the trio band and her fans also had the opportunity to get limited signed copies as freebies on the night. The EP compilation includes releases from Lyndsay’s repertoire which have been playlisted on the leading radio stations during the year whilst topping the local charts as follows; Walking on Air, Mr. Vanity, Butterfly and Best Song Nominee Daphne as a bonus track. It has been available for downloads on the digital platforms such as iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify prior to the debut release.

There is an ambition, one to contain the excitement and work in the most professional standard, bringing out a diverse music taste in the industry. Lyndsay hopes that in due time, she can set her foot abroad, to reach her dreams of becoming an established artist.

Between the year 2018 and 2019, Lyndsay participated in the first edition of the X Factor Malta, a Syco Entertainment owned format and globally co-produced/licensed by FreemantleMedia Limited where she had made it to the top 10 of the live shows with the new girl group Xtreme that had been formed during the bootcamp episode consisting of herself, Nicole Azzopardi (Junior Eurovision 2010), Elishia Seeman (Top 5 X Factor Australia with the trio group ‘Beatz’) and Martha Micallef Attard. Such a platform had been another milestone for Lyndsay whilst unravelling further projects throughout her music career.
