Documenting the Malta Jazz Festival is a research project by Toni Sant that aims to bring documents from and about the Malta Jazz Festival to the M3P in an effort to provide easier access to histories of this annual event.

Documenting Jazz 2020

On 11 December 2019, an oral history session with founding artistic director Charles City Gatt and Jeni Caruana (one of three artists who painted live at the Malta Jazz Festival for many years) was conducted by Toni Sant.

Olaug Vethal's 2004 painting Jazz 2 from the Fondazzjoni Kreattività Art Collection served as the starting point for this oral history session.

The initial findings were presented at the 2020 edition of the Documenting Jazz conference held at Birmingham City University, 16-18 January 2020. [1]
