Anna Bassily

Anna Bassily (born 15 July 1972) is an Actress from Żejtun.

After taken some drama course Anna debut was in 1989, in a comedy italian play La Bottega del Caffe as a Maid under the direction of John Suda at the Catholic Insitute at Floriana with the production house MASK. With the same company she works in Ara X’Qala l-baħar at 1990 under the direction of Carmel S Aquilina.

In 1992 she begain to works with the Bronk Producations and debut with them in a religious drama Ħelsien as Holy Mary this played was held at the Pandora Theatre at Żejtun under the direction of Pierre Bonello, she contiued worked with Bronk Productions in a comedy Toto (1992) at the Deporres Hall in Sliema, Polly jew Polly? (1993), Is-Sinjura Yolanda (1994) at Catholic Action Sede in Senglea, Tamietna (1996) at Deporres Hall. Madre Teresa (2000) at Catholic Insitute at Floriana under the direction of Paul Micallef, Ġuda in 2001 at Malta Labour Party Headquarters at Ħamrun, L-Iben ieħor (2004) (L’altro Figlio) by Pirandello at the Workers Memorial Builiding: General Workers Union Theatre at Valletta (to day knows as The City Theatre). Kikku u Baskal (2005) in the same theatre under the direction of Tonio Vella.

During 2003 and 2004 Anna taken severals drama course, such as Basic in Make-up, Acting in Theatre and Television, Improvisation, Script Writing with several tutors like Pierre Bonello, Frederick Camilleri, Simon Curmi, Helga Galea, John Suda and Dominic Said.

In 2005 Anna got her first experance in television drama when she taken part in Saħta fuq Uliedi view on One TV by Bronk Productions with the direction of Dominic Said. And in 2006 she taken part in another great drama Gizelle view on One Television with a 4 People Producation and directed by Abigail Mallia.

In 2006 contibed to taken more course like The Actor’s Workshop – Basic in Acting for Television under turors like Mark Doneo and Louise Doneo, Screen Productions – Dramatic Arts in acting on Television and Theatre with Tutor Lino Grech, and another special intesiv course Special Abilities – swoed Fighting and Fencing, Abselling and Rope work, Shooting, Horse Riding with Tutor Daniel Sammut. And another Screen Productions course Falls, Martial Arts, (NunChucks) Archery with tutor Jeffrey Abela. In 2006 she get the qualification as 2 star CMAS Scuba diver with Atlam Subabaqua Club with tutors Matthew Gatt, Nader Bassily, Louis Debono and Ray Scerri. She enjoy very well the underwater photography.

In 2007 made her debut at the Manoel Theatre in a Romantic drama The End Of The Affair with Maleth under the direction of Nancy Calamatta. In the same year she was very acttive when she worked with Theatre Group San Ginesio at the San Domenico Savio Oratory at Birkirkara under the direction of Anthony Ellul, in Ara Dieħel l-Ajruplan (Boeing Boeing) a Comedy with Karattri Company under the direction of Lino Grech, with the company and direction taken part in a Religious work Agħtini l-Għajnuna, Noli taħt il-Friex was another comedy director by Anthony Ellul for Teatru Rjal, and taken part alson in Il-Qaddej taż-Żewġ Bosses (Servitore di due padroni) by Carlo Goldoni at the Manoel Theatre for Maleth under the direction of Jaume Villalba Sanchez.

In 2008 Anna taken part in a comedy Majsi u l-Miljunarju min Tripli with Bronk Productions, Dr.Knock in Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta with Zarati production house under direction of Nancy Calamatta, and in 10 minute Farce at the Manoel Theatre with Maleth as part of Notte Bianca under the direction of Frank Tanti. Beside this she was involved in televsion drama Santa Monica view on Net TV produced by Image 2000 under the direction of Ray Attard.

Another tv drama was Il-Kristu tal-Kerrejja view on PBS And produced by 26th Frame with Charles Stroud direction. and was guest on a tv entretainment programm view on Super One BBQ. In this year she was involved in a flim Pawlu ta’ Tarsu view in Embassy Theatre produced by Junction Media Productions under the directions of Anthony Ellul and Tony Parnis.

In 2009 she taken part in Communicating Doors at Manoel Theatre for Maleth under the direction of Salvu Mallia.in a religious drama Sallabtni in Metanoia Theater with Skene under the direction of Fr.Ġwann Abela, Arlecchino’s Love Potion a comedy as cenerentola in the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce Venue with Zararti under Nancy Calamatta. She made also It-Tieġ ta’ Karmena Abdilla and she made the main part of Karmena at Ħal Tarxien under direction of Anthony Cini.

She was in volved in the role of Elisabetta in a drama Pawlu ta’ Tarsu view on Net TV produced by Junction Media Productions under the directions of Anthony Ellul and Tony Parnis. Also was seen in Xhud, Missjoni, and begain the role of Maria Debono in a teleserial F’Salib it-Toroq view on PBS produced by 26 th Frame under direction of Charles Stroud a drama view till 2012. She was also involved in another religious film Il-Messija view at Embassy Theatre as Marija mother of Jesus.

In 2010 taken parti in a religious drama Imsikket a drama by Fr.Ġwann Abela with Skene at Metanola Theatre at Ħal Luqa. She taken part in a history production named Valletta Living History as Mother of Paul view at Embassy Theatre produced by HD Entertainment and direct by Vince Briffa.

In 2011 she made two great level plays at the Manoel Theatre The Rose Tattoo with the producation play house Manoel Theatre, Malta Drama Centre,and American Embassy under the direction of Albert Marshall, and L-Għanja Taċ-Ċinju with the same director.

Also thaken part in some drama stories in Sejjaħtli mill-Pjazza view live on one tv with a CAM producation. And also read in the lanching evening of the two books by Dr.Alfred Sant Ċpar who win first prize hin his category of novelles in Maltese. And George Bush f’Malta who win second prize in his category.

Ann keep going continued learning get another course in Community Theater with the Malta Drama Center with tutors Mario Azzopardi and Dorothy Singh. And another course with Free Spirit as Master Classes under tutors like Albert Marshall, John Suda, Manuel Cauchi and Frederick Testa.

In 2012 with Talenti under the direction of Salvu Mallia taken part at the Manoel Theatre in Filumena Marturano. Her recently tv drama was in It-Tfal for two seasons produced by 26 th Frame under the direction of Bryan Muscat and Vittmi the last work by the late Lino Grech view on Net TV and produced by Njoy Media with the direction of [[Fabian Scerri De Carlo] and Daniel Borg Carbott. And was part of the producation team of Lenti a good interview programm presented by Albert Marshall view on TVM with a production of 4 sight

Anna can speak also a Maltese dialect, English and Egyptian.
