Uploading TIF

Toni - I have seen it as it was being uploaded. Photos I am uploading usually come from my folders that are saved on TIFF. I reduce their size since they exceed 20MB but cannot change their format. - SteveBorg

Steve, Darren S will look into this because there are a number of associated technical issues. The long term storage of images/files is a separate issue, but we also need to fine-tune the web experience with image uploads anyway too. --Toni Sant (talk) 12:55, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Steve, I've just left you a note on the Template_talk:Stub page about the image you're trying to add today, but I should also point out that TIFF images cannot be displayed on a web page. We're looking to having a way to automatically convert TIFF files into a format that can be viewed easily on a web page, such as jpg -- possibly through something called ImageMagick. --Toni Sant (talk) 12:12, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
