Marija Bellia

Marija Bellia was born on 20 May, 2003. She is an student from the small village of Il-Gudja. She is a singer songwriter.

As from the young age of 5 years, she had a deep passion for music. She started out by taking up vocal tuition at Future Voices Studio, led by Iona Dalli and she was part of the Future Voices Choir, then moved on to pratising the guitar, the trumpet with her local band club Soċjeta Filarmonika La Stella, Gudja, and she can also play the keyboard /piano.

Marija also experiments with other electronic instruments when she works on the music production of her original songs, whose lyrics are mainly inspired by personal experiences or other current themes.

She also likes to give original twists such as rap verses to cover songs. Marija’s career was boosted mainly after her entrance in one of the most well known singing competitions in Malta; ‘X Factor Malta’ in which she managed to make it through to the Judges’ Houses phase.

At the moment she is a finalist of L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2021, a festival which also celebrates the Maltese language that is very dear to Marija’s heart. She will be singing “Nann!” whose lyrics are by Marija herself and the music is by Iona Dalli and Marija.

On Saturday 7 August, 2021 Marija Bellia performed the song Nann lyrics herself and music by herself with Iona Dalli.
