Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 ws the television show by which Malta selected its entry to the 2003 Junior Eurovision Song Contest held in Copenhagen, Denmark on 15 November 2003.
This was Malta's first entry to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The Event
The national selection show took place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 5 September 2003. The event was broadcast live on TVM at 8:30 pm.
This local contest was co-organised by Public Broadcasting Services and the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts.
The show was presented by Annalise Ellul. The set was designed by Elisa Camilleri. Antonella Vassallo was executive producer for PBS, and the TV director was Frans Lia. Paul Mifsud, MCCA executive director, headed administration from the Malta COuntil for Culture and the Arts on behalf of the MaltaSong committee.
The rules stipulated that the writers and composers of the song must also be children, using no professional help.
Tickets for the show, ranging from Lm5.00 to Lm7.50 were available from the MCC and Caesar's Cafè at Portomaso.

Guest performers
The highlight of the evening was a performance by Bradley McIntosh, the British former singer from S Club 7. Other international acts include the group L13, Lyndze B, as well as singer Steve Cole.
Local guest acts included the Ray Mangion's Junior Choir Act React, Sophie & Yasmine, The Junior YADA Dance Company, as well as Mitchel & Jessica, Malta's Latin American dance champions.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003

Organised by the European Broadcasting Union, Malta competed against tthe two-hour Junior Eurovision 15 countries taking part: Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
The result will be decided by international televoting, and the winning song will be released internationally by EMI. International stars Robbie Williams, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears are expected to perform during the show.
