Cassar]] and was won by Albano Carisi, while Doris get the Third Place at [[Alhambra Theatre]], and another festival in Zafferana in Sicily and win the Thrid Place too. She got the opportunity to taken part in many programms on [[Rediffusion]] especialy the program ''Is-Siegħa tal-Morda,'' (Sick People Hour). Doris Curmi born on 21 September 1950 at Paola. She is a Singer, Married to Vince Cauchi in 1973 and got four children and lives in Buġibba. Doris begain singing at a younger age because her uncle has had his dancing school Paul Curmi Dancers and Doris at 8 years old sometimes she dance and sing in his shows at the Roadhouse.
Doris never gone learning and taken singing lessions in a someone class, or somewhere, at that time there would be San Remo and she always learn the lyrics of two or three songs, she also record them, and after she been sing them in a wedding reception or in public.
At 13 Doris begain taken part in some festivals organised by Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Insara (Young Christian Workers) and win the third place. She sing in fund reaising and charity programms, and taken part in the Oscar Lucas tv show and on tv program Music Shop presented by Victor Aquilina.
She had such programs on Rediffusion 15mins with Doris every Friday week for 3 months. And Sincerely Yours who was done from Depores Hall, later in 1967 she win second place it the Malta Song Festival 1967 with the song Bit Tlikki Tlikki lyrics by Marie Therese Vassallo and music by her father Frank Vassallo, Doris sing that song in Italian language (because before they started taking part in Eurovision) Malta Song Festival was the festival more followed, the actor Roger Moore was presented the trophies that year.
Doris taken part in many other events such as dances of Navy and Airforce at Manoel Island, and even for a hole one particular summer she sing three times a week, at the Premier. It was a very plesant moment that time, but in that era one could noted that the mentalitly was totaly different, (to see a women working at the night in a club) although, I always went to sing with my Mum or with my father who always bring his tape recorder true him I got some tapes, but when I was merried, my husband was against that I continue singing because he not always got time to come with me, and after some months I stoped, But after some years I made my comeback with my sister Carmen Curmi when we taken part in singing in The Malta Folk Song Contest 1976 when singing a song by George Stevens I'd daqq tal-Ġonġol, after taken part in a telant tv programm Blanżuni and even in Xarabank when she was chosen in 2003 after an auditions to sing in a choir with Vince Fabri in the programm. Today Doris althought was not an active singer, even her voice are still good, but she was aboard for a holiday she always try to sing, and she done this at Australia, Turkey, Paris, Las Vegas, Spain, because she enjoy it, even when she was in an Paris restaurant she asked them to sing or made kareoki, singing are in her heart, even when she was dancing in a hotel and saw Joe Cutajar she sang with him, a frew years ago she taken part in the musical Sound Of Music when she played as a nun. Doris got a son named David Cauchi he played the piano and sing too and got his band too named Dband.
