Her surname before she married was Schembri, She comes from a family of singers musiciations and over time also left their stamp on the history of Maltese music, scnce, singers such as [[Iris Schembri]] and [[Alexander Schembri]]and the other brother was [[Eugenio Schembri]] shall also involved as composer and also engineer in his studio.
Her love for writing, commencd at an early age, while still at school.


Doris began writing her career when she was 16 years and from that time onwards and achieved many successes forwarded it continued with her lyrics coupled with composers such as [[Renato Briffa]], and [[Andrew Zahra]] and established singers music Maltese scene like [[Mark Tonna]], [[Jessica Muscat]], [[Eleanor Cassar]] and [[Paul Giordimaina]] among many others.
As a young girl, she loved inventing stories out of titles, loved writing poems and sending them to local newspapers,where often enough, were chosen and published.


Among its tasks is the song Woman who was in third place in the [[Festival for Europe 1993]] as well as mention the words of film production Maltese.
Her first song came about when she was just sixteen, it was the only Maltese song finalist in a local international song festival.
 
From then on,  she never looked back.Her songs were sought after by famous singers.
 
She penned her lyrics  with well known Maltese composers, her songs were finalists in most prestigious festivals, local and abroad, where her singers, even enjoyed first placings!!
 
Doris comes from a family , involved in the music scene,  her sister [[Iris Schembri]] was a well known singer, her brother  [[Alexander Schembri]]  is a famous singer  and a drummer too, well known also on television program, ''Kalamita'' and her youngest brother  [[Eugenio Schembri]]  composer and sound engeneer, of his own recording studio. He  introduced the dance music in song festivals. Together they paved the way for her son [[Gunther Chetcuti]], who performed  some young and fresh songs.
 
Her most known and still sought in the media, is the song ''WOMAN'', music by [[Ġeorġina Abela]] and Mro. [[Paul Abela]]. Singer, her brother, Alexander Schembri, She wrote lyrics for the music of, [[Marco Debono]], [[Renato Briffa]], Her brother Eugenio Schembri. [[Jason Paul Cassar]], [[Paul Gordmaina]],  [[Andrew Zammit]], and many others.
 
Together they wrote songs for many famous singers Doris enjoyed the sweet taste of fame as a songwriter in every well known festivals on the Island and abroad.
 
Her motto to all her singers ''Not the winning place is important but to go and give your best interpretation ever''!

Doris Chetcuti was born in Fgura, on 5 October 1955, She is a Songwriter.

Her love for writing, commencd at an early age, while still at school.
