Carmen is coming from a family of music and dance, her uncle was [[Paul Curmi]] founder of the [[Paul Curmi Dancers]]. Her sisters was another famous singer [[Doris Curmi]] and Carmen always follows her steps. She started singing when she got 6 years

The famous [[Ineż Lombardo]] heared her sing, and she started to write songs for her, she taken part in serveral festvals, and she almost impresive and win or placed first, second or  third at [[Mellieħa]], [[Birgu]] at ‘Patri George’ [[Senglea]], [[Saint Paul Ba]] won it too and [[Rabat]] where won first place in [[John B. Cassar]] Festival, and even at [[Żurrieq]], view on Malta TV every week in ''Studio għat-Tfal''.
When local songwriter [[Inez Lombardo]] heard her voice, she started to write songs for her. Carmen took a successful part in numerous song contests. These include, [[Mellieħa]], [[Birgu]], ‘Patri George’'s festival in [[Senglea]], [[St Paul's Bay]], [[John B. Cassar]]'s Festival in [[Rabat]] and [[iż-Żurrieq]]. She was a regular weekly guest on television on programme ''Studio għat-Tfal''.


Carmen met Rolf Harris too on tv, then at the age of 14 she went to Canada singing at the [[Maltese Canadian society]] of Toronto, she spend two months in Canada and sang on TV too, they when return to Malta started singing with a group in [[Valletta]] [[Premier]] and hotels and wedding. The group name was [[Four Rings]] from Żurrieq and Carmen spendid about 8 years with then. singer at hotels and restaurants.  
On TV, Carmen met Australian comedian Rolf Harris. Then, at the age of 14, she was invited to go to Canada by the [[Maltese Canadian society]] of Toronto, and she spent two months entertaining Maltese emigrants. She even sang on Canadian TV. On her return to Malta, she joined beat group, [[Four Rings]] of Żurrieq. They performed at [[Valletta]]'s [[Premier]], in hotels and weddings. Carmen spent 8 years as the group's vocal.

Carmen sang too in the [[General Workers Union]] Festival and came second place too, beside she also dance and sing with her uncle folk lore group in hotels and on cruse ships etc

At 26 years she was married, and continue singing up to 38 years, the last she recorded a song was on a Cd Album issued by [[Phyllisienne Brincat]] with word and music by Ineż Lombardo and Carmen sing the song ''Ħdejn il-Baħar Flimkien'' on this CD  issued on 2004.

After unfortunately she started having tyrod problems and her voice was not much good anymore, this happened when she was 40 years

Carmen Curmi

Carmen Curmi (born 16 June 1959) was a singer from Paola. She was married to Joseph Briffa on May 1985 and they have a son Keith. Nowadays, she lives in Ħaż-Żabbar.
