Brian Micallef

Brian Micallef born on 16 September, 1950 at Sliema.

Attended St Joseph School Sliema and then St Aloysius in Birkirkara and finally at the Polythecnic where he organized with others the Poly Rock Concert and having Maggie Bell (great International Rock/Blues/Soul singer ) singing in one of them.

Brian likes sports very much and when he was younger, played football with Sliema Wanderers Under /19, Hibernians Reserves, Birkirkara FC in first team and the same with Melita, Kirkop Utd and St Andrews.

Beside this, in summer he always practiced swimming and played waterpool with Sliema ASC Minors and Reserves, and with Exiles and Otters.

For some years her played too on local level Chess, Basketball and Tennis.

He spend 34 years as a Bankier in his main job.

Join Rediffusion in 1973 and later joined Radju Malta and PBS and presented music programs with diferrent styles of music Rock, Blues, Soul, Pop, Heavy Metal, Oldies etc etc.

His well know programe Grinta take 18 years on air, while present program Rock Express is still currantly going after 22 years.

In this program Brian interview almost all the bands in Malta and Gozo of this genere of music.

In his own studio Brian meet Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Fish, Girlschool, Lenny Zakatek among others.

He also was a Judge in Eurovision Song Contest in Malta, and Judge for many times in Battle Of The Bands, between Maltese Bands.
