Banda Briganti A recent addition to the local folk scene, Banda Briganti enlace catchy tunes to witful lyrics, with a punch.  In recent years Maltese folk has gone through a revival with various artists and groups trying their hand at different styles.  Promoting the roots, like Għana, is important but to keep folk alive and kicking artist must explore other avenues and express themselves in a contemporary way.

Sylvan Borg (guitars) and Keith Muscat (piano) teamed under the moniker of Banda Briganti to offer a fresh approach.  The band x-rays the Maltese psyche and lyrics reflect what the duo think about the people who surround them – Maltese society in general.  Therefore it is inevitable that themes like politics, feasts, alcohol and the rest crop up from time to time.  The first single ‘Is-Sindromu tal-Kelb tal-But’ reflects the way Maltese think about themselves.  A very small nation with a big superiority complex.
