Aces Shade is a rock band from Malta, formed in 2011.
The band consists of Billy Lee (vocals & guitars), Kevin Busuttil (bass guitar & backing vocals), Patrick Harvey (guitar & backing vocals) and Karl Dingli (drums & percussions).
Its founding members Billy, Karl, and Nick Valenzia (on bass guitar) met as session players when asked to help in putting up a show with another Maltese band. (which one?)
For the first year or so they played covers of rock songs they liked but by 2012 they starting writing their own songs.
Their debut single, The Story in My Mind was released in the summer of 2012 and featured on Toni Sant's 318th Mużika Mod Ieħor podcast. This single was also nominted in the Singles category on the MMI 2012 Listeners' Picks Poll.
On 3 November 2012 played a gig at Muddy Waters Pub in St Julians to promote their debut single and released Rise as a follow-up to the single. Rise too appeared on the MMI podcast.
