Żejtun is a fairly sized town of fourteen thousand people in south-eastern Malta. It is the mecca of Maltese folk singing. In the heydays of the 1960s, għana heavyweights hailing from Żejtun included Pawlu Seychell l-Għannej, Pawlu Degabriele l-Bies, Mikiel Abela l-Bambinu and Żaren Mifsud ta' Vestru.
