Kapitell
Kapitell is a pair of ceramic print on porcelain artworks by Victor Agius, manufactured at Alka Ceramics Malta. They each measure 26cm in diameter. This work was donated to Fondazzjoni Kreattività in 2017 and is now part of the Fondazzjoni Kreattività Art Collection.
"Victor Agius (...) attempts to capture his precarious struggle to reimagine public art in ways suggested by overbearing bureaucrats who seemingly misunderstand the very nature of site-specific works of art. What remains is a a fragment of ruined ruins, which in the hands of a masterful artist becomes a significant piece with a mice-political aspect.[1]
Translated text from the ceramic plate: "It will be better if we don't expose your experiments in contemporary art, public art out there in public but in a museum specifically for contemporary art so that we don't shock and deter people from modern art!"
