Max Attard Portughes Born on 3 March, 1968. He Comes from Sta Venera. He is the drummer of the band Cushion.

Just like his all time favourite Idol (Neil Peart from the band Rush) Max is the latest edition to the family. Besides being the new guy he is also known to be the loudest.

The love for the instrument came at a very young age, even though he started playing pretty late in life. Max has played drums with various local bands mainly in the rock scene… but when it comes to enjoying music in general h is open to listening to many different types of genre, but his favourite will always be the progressive scene. In general when music is good, it’s just good - no matter what style.

Joining Cushion was a big challenge for Max because the style is not what one would call the norm, and the song writing is very complex but he is enjoying this new venture and experience to the full… Cushion is not just a band, it’s also a family of friends and musicians working creatively together which he is very proud to be a part of. Now looking forward to keep writing new music and also performing locally and also abroad. Besides his two beautiful daughters….. “Music was his first love and it will be his last.”
