Jan Pace was born on 7 March 1989. He is a Singer and used the stage name of Jan Cortez.

At the young age of eight he was already drawn to the entertainment scene. In 2007 he got a hit single ‘Have Nothing’ But Jan’s first big hit, ‘My World’, was released in summer 2012. Jan wrote it together with DJ Carlo Gerada, and it was produced by Carlo Gerada. ‘My World’ landed in the number one spot for four weeks running in Malta’s Top 10 chart. It also won best song of the year at the 2012 8.97 Bay Music Awards.

Jan Cortez’s new single, ‘On the Danceflooris‘ was out and has been doing well on radio stations and the official airplay chart. Written by Matt Mercieca (Muxu), produced by Canadian producer, Eliot C and sung by Jan Cortez, the party mood-inducing beat and lyrics are sure to get listeners excited for summer.

Speaking about his new single, Jan Cortez explained that “the song can be interpreted in two ways –it can be about a relationship breakup or any situation where you let all your stress and problems out on the dance floor.”A music video will be coming out in a few weeks. When asked about his musical drive and style, Jan said, “The driving force has always been inside of me, I've always been into music, I would consider myself alternative as I started out in musical theatre then moved on to writing my own material and creating my own band.”
