Frans Pisani ta' Platti

is probably Gozo's sole għana folk music promoter. He was born on the 17th June 1956 and hails from Ta' Sannat.

He got his inspiration to follow folk singing through his father Pinu, who was a prim guitarist. His father then opened a small wine shop, the Sunshine Bar, a dive where folksingers met and held small events. Pisani organized several events, including a memorable one with the participation of twenty eight folksingers, in aid of a monument for the deceased Frans Baldacchino l-Budaj. On the 18th March 2009, at Munxar's St. Paul's Parish Church, Pisani was the factotum of the first ever mass that was wholly celebrated by folk singing. This feat was repeated in Nadur, Kerċem and Xagħra, and includes fourteen prayers and a sermon, all written on the folk singing model.

Pisani crosses to Malta very often to attend to folk music events and is usually in the company of Gozitan folksinger Ġanni Spiteri l-Pisklu.
