Daphne Cassar

Daphne Cassar (born 26 September 1977) is a Maltese newscaster, journalist and TV presenter.

She is the daughter of Maltese actor Tony Cassar Darien.

Early career

Between years 2000 and 2004, Daphne was involved in Campus FM, the University of Malta’s radio station.

She graduated B.Comm (Hons) in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Malta. Her thesis entitled 'Ethnographic Study in Media Consumption Patterns' received a distinction.

In September 2005 she started working in the PBS newsroom.

In August 2009 she flew to Washington D.C. for a year following Metro Area Development Courses and Training in Media and Communication Studies.

On returning to Malta she formed part of the TVAM team, presenting the news spots in a daily television breakfast show on TVM. Co-presented with Joe Mifsud and Pierre Portelli, the program was broadcast Mondays to Fridays between 6.30am and 9.00am covering local and international news, providing analyses and offering insights and perspectives into ongoing current affairs.

Daphne is presently working in the newsroom at PBS.
