As a child she attended St Joseph School in Blata l-Bajda and De La Salle College in Cottonera. She started her piano studies at the age of 6 with Rita Micallef. Since 1999 she has been under the guidance of Pawlu Grech.

She specialises in the performance of 20th century and contemporary music. Her repertoire ranges from Béla Bartόk to today's modern composers. She has performed works by Gjӧrgy Ligeti, Paul Hindemith, Ahmed Adnan Saygun, Henry Cowell, John Cage, Andrew Rudin, Scott McAllister, Makiko Kinoshita and others.

Over the years has organised and taken part in several recitals and interdisciplinary projects collaborating with Maltese composers and other contemporary composers worldwide commissioning and premiering their works both in her own country and abroad.

She has been in a relationship with Maltese composer Ruben Zahra since 12 May 2004. This is more than a personal relationship. She performs on the CD accompanying Zahra's award winning publication: A Guide to Maltese Folk Music released in 2006 and on the CD Arabesque featuring classical contemporary music released in 2009. She has also recorded a piano cycle which features in the CD accompanying the publication Maltese Folktales produced by Soundscapes in 2010. She is the pianist for folk ensemble Nafra, which is often invited to participate in international World Music festivals.

Along with clarinetist Lino Pirotta and violinist Tatjana Chircop she also plays and promotes the works of Maltese composers together with the music of established 20th century masters as Equinox Trio, since 2009.

She also performs with Crossbreed, promoting contemporary music rooted in Mediterranean heritage.

Williams is the secretary of the Malta Association for Contemporary Music set up in 2010, whose aim is to support composers and musicians, organise concerts, conferences, workshops and events of any other kind designed to promote contemporary music.
