Clean-up Needed

The text currently on this page needs further work. It was most likely imported or reproduced from a website associated with the subject of the page - possibly through a process involving far-from-perfect machine translation, often with awkward results. It is awaiting the attention of an experienced M3P editor, which could be you. It may be slightly out of date, or may need other elements taken care of appropriately, including proofreading or copy-editing for grammar and style.

The Rookies

The Beatgroup The Rookies was found early in 1977 by three brothers Benny Grima lead guitar, Philip Grima bass guitar and Joe Grima keyboards and Dennis Abela on the drums who will change by Emanuel Cardona.

They launched their first single in July 1977. The single was named Hija which was in the top ten in Malta at that time. In the vocals featured also Tonia Grima.

In 1978 another new single was launched named Lura Malta.

The Rookies carried on till 1985 and then the Duo Benny and Tonia was formed.

This year 2015 it will be the 30 years as Benny and Tonia
