After undergoing several musician auditions, Tartaglia recruited Luke Briffa on drums, Alan Portelli on bass and Amanda Friggieri as vocalist to complete the band’s line up.

The genre Tact plays is known as lounge, incorporating styles of music ranging from classical to jazz folk.

Tact’s music is composed by Franco Tartaglia, and musical arrangements are done collectively by all members of the band.

A recording of their song Sense of Purity was released on Monday 27 September 2010. The group was introduced to the public with an impressive set of photographs by Denise Scicluna at Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar and a live show at Tiffany's Champagne Bar & Cigar Room in Portomaso, St Julian's on Saturday 2 October 2010.
