'''Stefan Galea''' (born 28 March 1996) is a Maltese singer. He is a two time finalist in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 and 2023 respectively with his entries 'Light Up My Life' and ‘Heartbreaker’. He was also contestant on the first season of The X Factor Malta.

Stefan is a singer/songwriter bringing forward a theatrical flare to an alternative pop sound. He started his training in performing arts at a very young age at Masquerade Theatre Arts School, whilst continuing to further his vocal studies through assessments conducted by the Trinity College of Music.
Stefan Galea is a Maltese teen electro pop/ Rnb artist from the sunny island of Malta. He is 15 Years Old and is currently gaining lot's of success on the island and internationally.  


He has only released two singles to date, but the future is looking bright for Stefan for at his young age he has managed to have two number 1 singles in Malta. His debut single "Take It Or Leave It" written by British songwriter/producer Richard Rogers and lyrics by Elizabeth Galea, managed to get the number 1 spot in the Reverb Chart and stayed their for 8 weeks, To continue on that note he also worked with talented songwriter James Forrest (Glasgow U.K.) from Supa Sonic Music who pitched his track "Shotgun Lover" to Stefan in collaboration with rapper DIMAL. The track also reached the number 1 spot and continued to gain and enjoy more radio airplay and TV performances.  
His first major stage performance took place way back in 2009 as a Malta Junior Eurovision finalist. From the very beginning, he started experimenting with different genres of music, whilst having the opportunity to network with various international songwriters. As a result, in January 2011 Stefan’s first original music was featured alongside several local artists in Cannes, France during Midem – a music industry conference attended by various record companies and industry movers.


Stefan big exposure as soon as he debuted at The Malta Junior Eurovision Festival 2009 stage with his trribal up tempo track "Shake Up Wake Up" a song about teens living their dreams, which got a very good considerable number of hits on You Tube. After Stefan was discovered by Aiming 4 Fame founder Madeleine Dargue, an organisation which develops artists in collaboration with ICAD International so as to get the right songs, right image, and vocal abilities, as well as finding gigs and opportunities for the artist.
During this time he was one of the youngest opening support acts for Ira Losco’s anti-bullying concert ‘Music 4 Life’ aimed towards teenage students from all over the island. Stefan also took the stage to perform live with rock band Texanna at the Farsons Great Beer Festival; accompanied by Rock Guitarist from renowned 80's rock band ‘FM’ Andy Barnett. He also formed part of the Joseph Calleja Choir between 2010 – 2012.


He is currently working on new tracks and is looking to release his debut album "My Evolution". Another achievement gained is when he got nominated for The Peoples Music Awards as Best Male Solo Artist and Best Dance Electronica Artist. Stefan also supported top acts performing at their concerts/gigs including Malta's rock jewel chick Ira Losco and the UK's top pop girl duo "The Cheeky Girls". Stefan also forms part of The HSBC Joseph Calleja Choir.
Further experiences in the music / performing arts scene include participation in major Maltese TV shows. In 2016 he was a finalist for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest whilst also competing in the Maltese version of The X Factor, gaining 4 yeses from all four judges and making it as far as the Chair Challenge, with the top 10 artists in the groups' category under the direct mentorship of singer/songwriter judge Alexandra Alden. Theatre performance credits and roles in the yearly traditional panto include; 'Rapunzelstiltskin', 'Treasure Island, 'Cinderella' (MADC); 'The Little Mermaid' (FM Theatre Productions), and (KSU Students Fest) Sister Act.  


Meanwhile Stefan's big break arrived when his promo single "Shotgun Lover" ft. DIMAL (James Forrest UK) was chosen for the first time ever to be featured on the Malta to Midem CD, the track was distributed to all CEO's of major record labels, MTV, and gaming producers at the Worlds largest music industry trade fair MIDEM in Cannes, France. 10 days later Stefan was contacted by New York City Label Dramatico who worked with the likes of Katie Melua. He is currently working on two of the labels tracks which made Stefan get more local press/media attention from newspapers/tabloids, magazine features, interviews, and TV, etc.
His debut single release ‘Escape’ produced by Carlo Gerada entered 89.7 Bay’s top 10. Eventually, his first self-penned and composed EP ‘Disclosed Affairs' (2019) featured music produced by hit Maltese band Red Electrick's Peter Borg and Aleandro Spiteri Monseigneur. The first single from the EP titled ‘Close To You’ hit the radio airwaves whilst entering the local radio and iTunes charts. The artist's latest music project titled ‘Untrue’ (2021) was launched in collaboration with Gilkicker Music and Insynk Collective, this work highlighted a more progressive and abstract musical direction.


At his young age Stefan participated in various festivals and won, while also performing on various TV shows, and recently he made it to the semi finals of The ISC International Songwriting Competition 2010 (USA) beating thousands of applicants judged by various music industry movers and shakers including Kings Of Leon, Rihanna, Robbie Williams, people from VH1 and MTV also people form Walt Disney Records, Sony and various labels. Stefan also placed second in You Tube's Got Talent 2010, while also having the opportunity to study for 7 years at The Masquerade Theater arts school which consists of Drama, Music & Dancing, which led Stefan to get a role in a Maltese movie "Qatt M' Hu Tard" directed by Elio Lombardi. While also performing in front of Italian Ambasador Onor. Andrea Trabalza in 2008.  
Besides his love for music, he is a middle school / sixth-form educator by profession. Following a long hiatus to focus on his University studies, he still kept on working and experimenting with music behind the scenes. Stefan felt 2023 would be an ideal time to return to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest to showcase his current sound.


Stefan is working with top international established songwriters from the UK, US, and Australia, and Europe who have worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and many more thanks to Aiming 4 Fame (Madeleine Dargue) and Ms. Lotte Aagaard from T.G. Publishing Denmark. Stefan is managing to juggle school and music as well as guitar studies, and the producing area with Cool Bro Sound, and hosting a web televised show Aiming 4 Fame TV, In the meantime watch out for more.
Stefan gets his musical inspiration from artists such as Troye Sivan, Two Feet, Disclosure, and Tove Lo amongst others. His music is often inspired by personal life experiences. He sees songwriting as a means of therapy to channel his inner emotions effectively.

Stefan Galea (born 28 March 1996) is a Maltese singer. He is a two time finalist in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 and 2023 respectively with his entries 'Light Up My Life' and ‘Heartbreaker’. He was also contestant on the first season of The X Factor Malta.

Career
