Clean-up Needed

The text currently on this page needs further work. It was most likely imported or reproduced from a website associated with the subject of the page - possibly through a process involving far-from-perfect machine translation, often with awkward results. It is awaiting the attention of an experienced M3P editor, which could be you. It may be slightly out of date, or may need other elements taken care of appropriately, including proofreading or copy-editing for grammar and style.

Norbert Borg

Norbert Borg was born on 23 October, 1977 at St Luke’s Hospital, Pietà, He grew up in several places around Malta such as Gwardamagia, Birkirkara, Mosta, Buġibba , and l-Imsida always where his parents moved , today he was settled in Ħal Tarxien.

Norbert Borg

Norbert started off his musical experience in a classical oriented tuition by his own father. The urge to discover other musical fields was always present until there was a breakthrough when forming his first teen-age rock band at the 6 th Form. There he started his first musical arranging experience in both cover versions and some original work too.

Soon after he found himself in a pub with a band of adult musicians. The pub experience led the way to form other duo and trio formations where he performed in several pubs and hotels all over the island. Playing with different musicians helped in accumulating a vast repertoire from all eras. Moreover meeting people from all over the world, requesting all sorts of songs also contributed in the pleasure of exposing himself to new songs and styles. He played his first wedding ceremony at the age of fourteen, that of his elder sister, soon after the wedding reception of a friend.

After 12 years of mixed musical experiences, today, Norbert plays mostly in weddings and other private functions, yet whenever he can, he often replaces other musicians elsewhere. Being so involved in the performing side of music, Norbert only composed personal songs rather than any for festivals or competitions. During the way, of searching for new talents to share the stage with, Norbert was encouraged by Raquel Galdes to submit a song for the L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2015. Just 3 days away to the deadline, the song found itself with the finalists. I am sure that this experience will reopen a new path towards composing to the local scene. And he made it, and placed second with the song Ċans Ieħor music by himself and words by Daniel Paul Farrugia
