Miguel Bonello

Miguel Bonello, from Rabat, Malta was born on 6th February 2003. He is a Singer.

From a very young age, Miguel was always interested in music, and this flourished into a passion for singing. He dabbled in some school concerts, until he started professional singing lessons from the age of 11. In 2015, he took part in a renowned Italian festival, Una Stella Sta Nascendo. This was Miguel’s first experience in competing abroad, and he was one of the finalists.

In 2016, he travelled abroad again to Finland and Latvia, claiming Grand Prix in both aforementioned countries. Travelling abroad didn’t stop him from continuing to compete locally. In fact, he was awarded the title Best of all Singers on Maltese TV programmes Sajf Ma' Gaffiero and Misraħ il-Milied. Last but not least, he was a finalist in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

In 2017, after he win San Remo Junior Malta he represented Malta in the San Remo Junior 2017 due to the fact that he was Malta’s Grand Prix winner. He sung alongside a full-blown orchestra in the Ariston Theatre, located in Italy where he was awarded the Special Mention of the Committee. He competed in The Entertainers Singing Challenge in which he was a finalist, and during the Battle of the Voices where he was declared the Grand Prix winner.

In 2018 and 2019, Miguel also took part in both seasons of X Factor Malta. In Season 1 and Season 2, he made it to the Six Chair Challenge as a soloist and as part of a duo respectively.

In 2020, he was announced as one of the twenty semi-finalists of Mużika Mużika - Festival Kanzunetta Maltija. In late March 2021, Miguel will be competing alongside the semi-finalists for a place in the final. With the song ‘Sinfonija Ħiemda’ penned by Joe Julian Farrugia and composed by Aldo Spiteri and his son Bradley Spiteri.
