Joe Julian Farrugia was born on 9 April 1962 in Paola. He is the youngest among four brothers sons Francis and Beatrice. Attended the Missionary College of St. Paul and in 1979 won the prize Anna Azzopardi Muscat Maltese language from the University of Malta.
The poem has always been dear to Joe Julian and wrote many passages that remained hidden in a drawer until he found who encourages and started watching the sunlight. After time write poetry, Joe Julian had started well write the songs
Joe Julian took part in many festivals and won prizes in all kind of festival that took part in it. Apart from Malta, Joe Julian represented Malta in a number of festivals, and among others won the International Song Festival of Discovery Bulgaria twice and Ti Amo Romania four times. In 1999 was chosen by the American Airlines song to song played whenever requested by Malta on their aircraft. He also wrote two musicals and three pantomimi Christmas.
Joe Julian also writes for television dramas including in the popular sitcom Simpatiċi, Il-Prinċipal and Xplahh Malħajt. It was artikolist newspaper every Sunday and wrote a large number of articles for local magazines. It has also through his blog page Kif Naħsiba Jien..
Joe Julian is also a broadcaster. He has written and produced a number of programs including biographies, Dr. Peel, Menz, Xalamita, Indigo and Medik. He won three awards from the Institute of Maltese Journalists for television works. Joe Julian was also part of the production team of Xarabank and today is a presenter on Radio Malta 2.
Joe Julian is married to Marlene and have two children, Clara and Valentina.
