Freddie Castelletti was born in Valletta on 1 February 1939.
His career begain in Valletta, at Strada Reale down area. When still had only six years, when his mother put him in the window of their apartment they were living.
In those days, he likes listening to old radio singer Claudio Villa , and as a boy it was, fun for him singing with the radio.
On a one fine day, Charles Lucas, brother of Oscar Lucas which was settle infront of his house, heard him sing, and Charlie went to asked his mother to allows Freddie to sing with their own band.
Begain singing with Oscar Lucas (Jimmy Dowling) band in the Pjazza Reġina (Premier) Valletta, and from there, he went so well that without he knew was finished, as a guest and was invited to sing with a group that was successful at those times, including the famous theatrical company Stage Commandos / Radju Muskettieri.
Years passed by and now he been started singing and playing piano with the Aquarius group when they started giving performances at the Hotel Preluna, moreover, he was also sings with Johnny Mick Band in the same period.
With Aquarius spend a period of approximately five years, where with them, he had the opportunity to turn several prominent hotels, and lunch some songs on 45 rmp single discs like, Maria, Tfalja Bla Qalb, Ħarġa Fit-Xhur Xitwija, Jien u Marianne, and Qatt ma' Bsart Għalik.
Aquarius was invited to played in an Night Club in Liverpool, England for eight months, after they returned to Malta and began playing the Hilton Malta.
However there was an opportunity to play on Cruise Liners where there lasted approximately seven years. Sailed with the entire Mediterranean to even come near Russia.
First Album CD released goes back to 2003, and was bringing his own name. Freddie Castelletti. This album got all words and music by Alfred C. Sant old classic hits which had previously already achieved great successes which, when he launch them on discs 45.rpm. like Maria, and Tfajla Bla Qalb, and as well, new original songs by Maltese for the first time.
His Second CD Album, In 2009 he released his Second CD album named Back Again featuring fourteen songs written by Alfred C. Sant like new original songs including, Blue Lagoon,San Anton,Back Again and Ħolma Bejn Tnejn.
Now Freddie Castelletti he was out from the music scene of night clubs and hotels but still take fun and sing on some Maltese evenings and tyake part in some programs on the television. For future he got in mind to work another new album, with New Maltese songs, and as well some Neapolitan songs too.
