The Bay Music Awards is an annual ceremony organized by 89.7 Bay celebrating the most popular artists played on that particular radio station during the previous twelve months.

The first edition of the BMAs took place in 2003. The appearance of the BMAs contributed to the withdrawal of Malta Music Awards from the scene between 2004 and 2006.

The main award categories are: Best Newcomer, Best Dance Tune Remix, Best Song, Best Solo Artist, and Best Band.

Voting is done exclusively by SMS using the name of the singer or band to the respective number for each category. Voters are entered into sweepstakes for a number of prizes, including weekend breaks at the InterContinental Malta.
