Salvu Galea Tal-Kalora

Salvu Galea Tal-Kalora

was the son of noted folksinger Ninu Galea Il-Kalora. Salvu, born in Naxxar on 4th November 1944, emigrated to Australia in the 1970s. He featured in singing sessions with Joe Vella Il-Bokser, Ġanni Zammit Is-Sigar and Loretu Vella Tas-Siċċu.

He has written a number of ballads, including Id-Destin Krudil, where he was accompanied on guitars by Lippu Gauci Tal-Imqabba, and brothers Frans Camilleri Ta' Sponoż and Tony Camilleri Ta' Sponoż, originally from Żabbar.

He passed away in Melbourne on the 3rd of October 2008. His brother Jesmond Galea Tal-Kalora is still active in improvised verse singing.
